The series of paintings above is inspired by my love for botanical gardens and Victorian glasshouses.

Back in Austria there is a beautiful glasshouse in Vienna that is also home to many tropical butterflies. Sometimes they even land on you as you walk through.

 

The glasshouse in my paintings serves as a little retreat. A place to relax, where you leave behind any troubled thoughts upon entering.

A safe oasis to daydream in - a space for inspiration where you recharge your mind with positive energy, surrounded by the things you love.

 

It is also a symbolic shelter for protecting what is precious to us within our souls.

A fortress of inner peace and light.

Under the glass, safe from the elements, it provides a special place to nurture what brings us joy, what makes us happy, what keeps us sane.
